Winter Boot

I've worn these with a gel insole for added comfort. Well made for youth abuse. They're comfortable, flexable and warm. They'll probably last me for many years.

Great little boots

I got the Kamik boots in red and pink for my seven year old daughter and she just loves them, the colors and the style are snazzy. I intended them to be used for our little hiking excursions but she loves to wear them to school too. They are sturdy and attractive, a great deal compared to all the other childrens hiking boots I've looked at both on line and in local stores. I will probably get another pair when these wear out.

Hiking Boots

I bought these hiking boots for my four year old son. The boots are better than my expectations. These are a great value and I would recommend them to anyone looking for good, sturdy, value priced hiking boot.

great little boot at an even better price

My son wanted to start going on day hikes with me as I told him he was yet too young to go backpacking (next year I think). I wasn't expecting much as the price wasn't what I was used to for decent hiking boots (my own boots were $150 on clearance sale)... Then again, I wasn't sure if he would even LIKE hiking... and also, we all know how fast kids grow out of stuff. My $150 size 13's will hold me for a solid 2-3 years depending on how many trips I get in... with these Kamik size 1's, I'll be lucky if they FIT him for the rest of the season. I was pleasantly surprised to find these Kamik boots had many features similar to my Asolos. They seem to offer good arch and ankle support with a generous toe box to prevent toe bang while hiking downhill. They also have what I refer to as a "rash guard" covering much of the toe, which adds a little protection to the foot, as well as abrasion resistance to the material. The tongue and collar are generously padded, and the speed-lacing eyes have a little bit of texture on the inside which gives just enough friction to hold the lace tight in place as you snug them up.

The only possible downside is that they are not (or at least they don't SAY they are) Gore-Tex lined... my feeling on this is that it's a kids boot. most of the hiking that we do are short day-hikes. if his feet get wet, it's not like they'll stay that way for more than a couple hours. I've also found Gore-tex to be a mixed blessing when it comes to boots. Sometimes it seems that when they DO get wet, they seem to take longer to dry than a non-lined boot.

if you're looking for a good sturdy boot that your kids are sure to outgrow before they have a chance to destroy them, definitely consider these little gems.
