I would not buy these shoes a second time

The soles of these loafers have been intentionally designed with individual hard elongated shapes that flex when one walks. This flexing action has the effect of pressing against the area of the foot just below the ball of the big toe. I am not sure if this is Rockport's "Strobel forefoot that provides flexibility to aid the walking motion", or their "Dynamic Suspension® DMX® foam chamber on bottom of EVA footbed that provides dynamic air cushioning and sensation". The effect is that when walking or standing still and rocking slightly, the sole presses up on the foot. After a month of wearing them I have a hard time deciding if it feels like a massaging motion or more like the hard sole broken into pieces. The end result it that the sensation is either distracting or annoying.
The leather quality is good, the shoes are comfortable, I would buy another pair if they did not have whatever advanced technology Rockport has built in that detracts from the wearing experience.

Rockports, comfort able and loud.

At a certain age people begin to know who is walking nearby just by the sound shoes make. Unfortunately for these 'Men's" shoes they sound like a woman's heels. Especially on the hardwood floors in our house these shoes sound really LOUD.

Comfort is good, but the price is no bargain.

Very Comfortable Shoe

I purchase the loafer for my husband. His reponse was they was very comfortable and did not make noises when walking. He was impress with the color and the style of the shoe.

Comfortable fit, well-made

These work well as "casual day" shoes for the office or family functions. Fit is true to size and the shoes are very comfortable with some cushioning built in.

Order this shoe wider then usual. I never have to order wide, and did not do so this time and these are too skinny. Otherwise a good shoe.
