Very comfortable boots (except for first 2-3 days)

This is a pair nice pair of boots with very comfortable inner lining of soft leather and an apparently impossible-to-damage sole. However, this pair will be a living hell for anyone for the first 2-3 days! I read some reviews about this pair of boots being very tight and smaller than normal size, and initially I regretted my decision of buying this. The first day of wearing this to work, I had to remove this pair towards the end of the day (after first removing the sock, and then go on limping for the entire day) and go home barefoot. But the second time I wore it, it was a little better and now it fits snuggly and comfortably. I now know why it happened.

First, I had this problem only on my left foot. I am a prominently left handed (though considerably ambidextrous) person and so, the left side of my body is a little bigger than the right side. For a right-handed person, it will be the other way around. The second and most important point is that, unlike lace shoes, there is no option of pulling and tightening in the boots with zipper, and so they must fit perfectly once they are broken in. As of today, I can wear a thin pair of socks and this boots comfortably, though the first 30 minutes of so, I feel a mild squeeze on my left feet. Mind you, I have worn this pair only on a total of 6 days until now, and I am pretty sure that within the next couple of weeks, it will be 100% perfect for my feet.

For those who said that this boot gets a worn-out look with the leather developing many creases, I could get it all shiny simply by using a brush of medium hardness (without using any polish).

My suggestion: If you want to buy this pair to go out on a date, attend a party of a wedding, probably you are headed for pain and agony (and bad mood, and some swearing too, if you are as uncivil a person as I am!). But if you are a man with patience to wait and break it in, and this is not going to be your only pair of boots, probably this is a nice pair to buy and enjoy, with an occasinal little squeeze notwithstanding.

Rockport Could Do Better With This Boot

This boot is just not up to my expectations of a Rockport product. The boots run narrow. The finish on the leather is some sort of oiled finish that turns light in the creases as you put them on and walk. The pull-strap at the back hangs up the cuffs of my slacks as I stand up, and I have to bend down to unhook them every time my cuffs ride up over the top of the boot, and the tabs are really to short to do any good---I'll probably end up cutting them off. The best things about the boots are their light weight, which one expects from Rockport, the soles stick to worn-smooth asphalt like glue, and the low dress heel. And, they are well-made. But, I would not buy them again.

These run small! Order at least 1/2 size larger!

Nice looking boots - I got them in the mail yesterday. I wear size 11 1/2 for every other brand and can sometimes comfortably wear a size 11, but these are waaayyyyy too tight. I am going to need to send them back for a larger size. I am going to try a size 12, but am afraid that they'll still be a little small.

seconds?

what i concider excessive scratching on one of the boots. covered with polish they are hidden but that should not be necessary right out of the box. foot comfort is fine.

Comfort

Comfort in a boot is often hard to find..but this boot has it in spades!! Would recommend this boot to any tender foot who's afraid of wearing boots. Another plus is that they are very well made.
