Great Shoes!!!
I can't say enough good things about these shoes, but I'll try.
These are incredibly comfortable shoes. At the end of the day, my feet don't hurt and I don't think about these shoes at all during the day. For me, that exactly how shoes should be.
These are incredibly durable shoes. I'm very hard on shoes. At times my job requires that I sit on the floor or kneel on the floor (usually concrete). Usually when I do that, my shoes get scuffed and damaged on the toes or the sides. But not these shoes. I was on my knees working on an electrical panel much of the day the other day while wearing these shoes, and they still look great.
These are incredibly well made shoes. They feel substantial and sturdy, but not heavy or clunky.
These are incredibly easy shoes. My shoes get dusty and dirty at times. I simply wipe these off with a cloth or rag. I haven't even had to polish them yet.
I've tried many different types of shoes, and I like Eccos as well. But these are my new favorite shoes. I would get them again in an instant.
Slightly better than the Classic model
I've bought Rockport World Tour Classic shoes over and over again, but this time I opted for the World Tour Elite Encounter. The name is pretentious, but the leather and construction are better than the Classic, so I don't care. You do feel the new air support insoles under your feet for a few days until you get used to them. Overall, I would say these are a slight improvement a shoe that was already excellent.
Very good - waiting to see how it wears
I have worn these shoes for more than two months now, and they have broken in nicely. I'm quite heavy and wear prescription orthotics, and these shoes seem a little flat and less than optimally supportive -- but my orthotics are aging, so maybe it's not the fault of the shoes. In any case, it's not a big problem; they just don't quite measure up to the SAS shoes I previously wore -- which cost twice as much! I'm curious how they'll hold up (and hold me up) over time.
I was a bit surprised to discover that these, the "brown" flavor, have a suede finish; I didn't discern that from the thumbnail photos. Bottom line, though -- these are quite good shoes, and better than most that I've encountered at the same price. They're keepers!
Good all around shoe
These shoes are good for a business casual environment, and comfortable enough for traveling and extended walks. I've owned Rockports before and they've always lasted a long time.
Very comformtable even for all day on your feet
I bought these shoes specifically for the yearly Expo our organization runs in huge convention halls. Last year I thought I took a pair of fairly comformtable shoes with me, but my feet were killing me on the second day. By day four I could barely walk and my feet were covered in blisters. After learning my lesson I was looking specifically for black semi-dressy-looking walking shoes and this model with its DMX feature and host of positive reviews sounded fairly promising. I am back from the Expo now and happy to say that I made the right choice. Not only my feet did not turn into a bloody pulp by the end of the show, but I was able to explore the Orlando in the evenings and even walk entire Universal Studios the next day after the Expo was over. Good work Rockport. I know which shoes I am taking with me to the Expo next year!
