A landscaper's dream
I have been an Ecco fan for years, so I come to expect the ruggedness and quality of their shoes to be a given.
The best part of Ecco boots is that they are waterproof. Yes, waterproof.
You really have to wear them out before they start to allow water to enter. I generally own 2-3 pairs so that they get rotated during the week and have a chance to dry out before I use them again.
My only gripe with Ecco is that they seem to be phasing out their workboots in favor of more casual wear. If any one in the company is reading this: Please don't discontinue Ecco work boots. They are the best for light-medium duty work that landscapers and gardeners, like me, perform. No other company makes a boot that fits my needs or my foot like Ecco does.
bad bad bad
I was very unhappy with the delivery of my item. I ordered the shoes through Amazon and the items were shipped DHL. Based on this I had the items shipped to my home. My mail normally comes to my PO Box because I don't have a mailbox and USPS does not deliver to my home. Come to find out that DHL turns the items that they are responsible to deliver over to the post office to deliver. So it goes without saying that my shoes never arrived. NO IM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS ORDER!!!
Amazingly great.
Where to begin? These are the best shoes, the *best* shoes, I have ever owned. I suppose I could just leave it at that, couldn't I? Little more need be said. They're fantastically comfortable, they fit perfectly, they look great, the quality is unsurpassed, they work in any environment from the office to the woods, I mean, if you told me they stopped bullets and healed the sick I wouldn't be terribly surprised. You know what? When they arrived they were laced. *I didn't even need to adjust the laces*. I put them on and tied them and they were just right. These shoes are Just Right. They are everything you could ask for to put on your feet. I don't know what the Ecco magic is, but these even surpass, by a significant margin, the previous best shoes I'd ever owned, which were also Eccos, which lasted nearly eight years still looking great and performing flawlessly. I should mention also that I am practically a torture test for shoes. I'm not only a pedestrian commuter in New York City, but also a hiker who works in a Dockers-casual office. Finding a shoe that can keep up with me is a tall order. I kissed a lot of frogs, including Rockports that I wore out in less than 90 days and Timberlands that wrecked my heels. Had I to do it over, I would travel back in time and remind myself that the money I spent trying other shoes was not only wasted, but actually *more* than I would've spent in the same time period buying Ecco. Yes, I know you're looking at the price and wincing inwardly just a little. I did it too. But once you get over that tiny bit of sticker shock and remind yourself that these shoes will do it all, look great doing it, seem impervious to wear and tear, keep you comfortable, warm, dry and sharp-looking while other shoes find their way into the donation box one pair after another, just take my advice and hit Add To Cart before you let these get away. Excellent at any price. Absolutely worth it. Your feet will thank you, and you'll catch other people checking them out covetously :)
