Just Right for Sasquatch
Buying shoes from the internet sounds crazy and that explains me to some extent but these are just right for an old big foot. I opened the box after assisting the UPS guy recover from an hernia and dismantled those wonderful shoe trees that come with the shoes. Much to my surprise I had a brand new friend who not only fit well but actually caressed my tender tootsies. A little too much? I agree but they really fit well and did feel as if I had slipped into a comfortable holder. Off to the grocery store to try them out. Wow. Even the grocery store could not stop them. I managed to go through all the aisles and when I arrived home, my feet were still comfortable. Thanks Rockport and Thank You Amazon.
Rockport = Comfort
For my money, there is no shoe on the planet that is more comfortable & durable that a Rockport. These "boat shoes" are no exception. I bought these to replace a similar pair of Rockports I have that are so old ... my feet have been in and out of them so many times that the color in the leather is wearing out: at least ten years old, and worn many times a month. The "boat shoe" is, for me, just marketing. I wear them to work, and comfortably slip them on and off many times a day whilst seated in my cubicle -- just what a "loafer"-type shoe is for.
My only quibble is that (just like the ones they're replacing) the "laces" (which are meant only as ornamentation, as far as I'm concerned) tend to come untied once in a while. They're very thick leather, and it's difficult to get them to behave. But that's really a very minor quibble.
Terrific casual shoes. And to boot, the price on these is quite reasonable.
Awsum Rockports
I have replaced my previous Roclport deck shoes with these. They are exreamly comfortable. My previous Rockports lasted 4 years and I wear them every day. These are an excelent value for the money, and the more hey are warn the beter they look and more comfortable they are. I would recoment these over any deck shoes that are curretly on the market.
I loved it so much I bought all colors!
So here's my story for this product: I walked to Macy's in search of some nice Sperry Topsiders. I was specifically looking for a pair in a nice shade of brown. Alongside the selections were this navy blue, green and yellow boatshoes. I thought they were Sperry Topsiders (probably because they were placed alongside them) but I didn't know that Sperry came out with those colors. I was so intrigued that I couldn't sleep that night so I turned on my computer and went to the Sperry website. I didn't find the shoes that I saw in the store so the following day I walked back into Macy's to take another look at those shoes which I could swear were Sperries. I got the surprise of my life when I found out they were Rockports! I tried one on and oh my, were they so pleasant to the feet! I've had a few Rockports way before, but not as many as the Sperries that I had, and none felt this good to my feet! I had a hard time choosing that I bought all 3 colors available in Macy's (navy, green & yellow) and went home immediately to order the red from Amazon!
Rockports are the best for every day shoes.
These Bridgeports are probably my sixth pair of Rockports and my third pair of Rockport boat shoes in the past 25 years. You really can't go wrong this brand. They are always comfortable from the start, sized consistently and look good with any kind of casual wear. I need extra wide shoes and Rockport provides that size (although I was disappointed that the Schooner boat shoe does not come in the extra-wide size.) My last pair of boat shoes are now my work shoes when I'm working wood and building cabinets. Those came from Nordstroms five years ago or so, and were badly sewn along the back rim. No matter. I just wore them anyway rather than go through the hassle of returning them. I figured I could take them to a shoe repair shop eventually, but that has not been necessary. They've held up rather well. I highly recommend all of Rockport's shoes.
