My Comfortable Shoes

The New Balance Men's MR790 Running Shoe is not heavy. It makes walking or running easy and fast. The shoe lets in air to keep your feet comfy.
Its a very comfortable show to stand in for ten hours.

Below Average..

These run almost full size small and very narrow. I am size 13 and had never had to order a wide shoe in my life and never had a stock shoe so poorly "fit". With these I would need a 14-wide in order for them to fit. The sole is very thin and not really applicable for anything other than running on a track, or hanging in the gym. While it's a good looking shoe, it's cheaply made and only suited for (apparently) athletes with very skinny small feet. I have had lots of NB shoes over the years and their quality has taken a dive.

Great shoes if you're lucky with quality

I haven't had any of the quality problems that other people have described, but I believe them. (Not particular to New Balance, it just seems that everything we buy these days is potentially shoddy.) I'm a casual runner, some of it on dirt roads, and they're great. I've worn the sole out before I've had anything fall apart, and I have no complaints.

For me, though, I have a special affection for them them; after fighting mild plantar fasciitis for several years, discovering and wearing these shoes almost full time has improved my condition 98 or 99%. The things that cause people the stresses of plantar fasciitis to begin with are most likely unique to individuals, so I doubt they're some kind of universal cure, but I've tried everything including expensive Z-Coil shoes, and these provided instant relief and what may be permanent recovery. I've owned about 5 pairs of these, mostly the charcoal/orange ones and one pair of the lighter gray/burgundy, and they've all held up to my use very well. I try to always keep a spare pair around in case they become unavailable. By the time they stop making them, maybe my recovery will go from 98% to 100% and I won't even need to worry about them.

Great idea, poor quality

I love the idea of a lightweight breatheable trail running shoe. These both light and breatheable but the quality is very poor. If your intention is to use these of hiking or running expect to superglue the rubber back onto the soles regularly. I reccomend spending the extra money and getting a quality shoe.

BLACK SOLE FALLS OFF!

As the other reviewer mentioned, the soles come off. traction is gone within the first few days.

Its ashame because they are feather light and really comfy.

I contact New Balance and I am hoping they will help me with this problem. I may return these for another brand....
