Sole wears out quickly

I bought a pair of Rockport atkins to replace a 5 year old pair of Rockports dress shoes. After 6 months, the soles of the shoes were worn out and squeaking. I had to switch back to my old Rockports because they were in better shape.
Things to keep in mind:
1) sole is made out of foam. Its comfy but wears out quickly.
2) Leather is surprisingly thin. After ten years of buying Rockports, these shoes have the thinnest leather I have seen.
3) Single set of stitches. Older versions of Rockports have double stitches

It was explained to me that Rockport has been bought up by Reebok and as a result quality dropped.

Love these shoes!!

These are my husband's favorite shoes, but they were a discontinued style. He was thrilled to be able to locate these on Amazon.com and bought two pairs! As a sales rep, he walks a lot, and these are the most comfortable pair of dress shoes he has ever worn- very lightweight sole, and perfect fit.

best price for comfort

I had already priced these shoes in stores ON SALE. The lucky break was that they were out of stock. I say lucky because then I came home and found them on Amazon for less than the in store SALE PRICE! My husband loves them. He had been a loyal Timberland customer until then. These shoes are comfortable, light, and still dressy. He is a lawyer and uses them for work.Does a LOT of walking. Will definately buy again!

You get what you pay for

I am used to a rockport shoe being sturdy and long lasting, while this shoe has a nice classy look, it is not built nearly as sturdy as what I have come to expect from wearing Rockports shoes for 20 years.

Very Comfortable Shoes

The shoes are very comfortable. I would like to purchase all my rockport shoes on Amazon but the Rockport outlet offers 20% discount with AAA card which is significant saving. I hope Amazon will also start offering something like that so that we can buy Rockport products from the comfort of our home.
