Light, durable fun shoe from Dr Scholls...who knew?

I caught sight of these shoes on a lady at a local coffee shop...and walked up to her (in NYC!), and asked about them. I was frankly shocked to find out they were Dr. Scholls...and she'd bought them several years before...bummer.

But with some persistence, I found them!

Pros:
-Great for wide feet.
-Primarily plastic, so you can beat the h*ll out of them.
-Work well with pants and skirts.
-Lightweight so you don't feel you have 2 blocks on your feet.
-Some cushioning built into the heel, so good for long days walking/working.
-Funky, but conservative enough to wear with tights at stuffy office.
-Even though heel is 2" or so, the decline is minimal, so it's like wearing a flat shoe...great for us chicks who can't STAND heels.
-Great price! (I paid under $40)

Cons:
-Since mainly plastic, little stretch allowance, so takes a bit to break in if you have, say, a slightly higher instep (I do).
-Limited colors for daily wear...hunt around...there's a bronze I want now. Candy pink and bright blue are seasonable so limit wearability.
-You'll need to add 5-10 minutes to your day when wearing them because you'll be stopped and asked where you got them. Wait...maybe that's a PRO...meet new people, promote an "old" brand that's reinventing itself, and keeping sales up so they'll stay available!

Check out the Dr. Scholls site....this company has come out with other fun styles at reasonable prices. I never would have known if I hadn't stopped to ask.

These Shoes Are A Dream!

These shoes are outstanding. They are more comfortable and stylish than sneakers, go with everything and are actually a lot more rugged and stand up better to wear than I expected. The upper portion is a harder plastic but the footbed and sole is made of the comfiest foam core that puts a spring in your step and lets you stand on your feet all day if you have to without making your feet tired and sore. I did notice that the treads on the bottom wore off pretty quickly after walking on asphalt for awhile and then got a little slippery when the soles got wet. But, after a whole summer of wear they are still going strong and I'll probably get another season out of them so I'm not complaining. Highly recommended!
